Toal was one of Lord Marshal Zhylaw's top-ranked commanders in the entire Necromonger Empire. He was a prime candidate to peacefully succeed Zhylaw before he was killed by Riddick. Commander Toal was tasked to hunt down and kill Riddick after it was discovered that he was on the Basilica when they left Helion Prime. Toal failed that task, because Riddick confronted and challenged Lord Marshal before he had a chance.[1]
After Riddick took over the position of Lord Marshal, Toal with other Necromongers bent the knee and followed him. He was seen still alive during Riddick's coronation.[2]

The coronation scene in Riddick was an archive footage from The Chronicles of Riddick slightly altered to add Krone character in the crowd, and Vaako in new armor.
