- "Let me explain. It was Rust... he forced me to... but, but I knew those goons were no match for you."
- —Mattsson
Mattsson is a minor character in The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. He is an inmate at Butcher Bay Correctional Facility.
Biography[]
Setting up Riddick[]
Arriving at Butcher Bay, Riddick learned that Mattsson could get him a shiv that would give advantage in fights. He met Mattsson, who said Riddick could find the shiv in his cell. In there, Riddick got ambushed by Aquila's gangsters and, after surviving the set-up, came back to Mattsson, who justified the trickery, saying that Rust made him do it.
Clash with Rust[]
To redeem himself, Mattson told Riddick that he would bring the shiv to his cell. Soon, Mattson came with a shiv, only for Rust to personally confront Riddick, ordering him to give up the shiv. Abbott stopped Riddick from fighting Rust, and Aquila's leader, provoked by Abbott, taught Mattsson a lesson by breaking one of his fingers.
